Certificate Supplement |
The Certificate Supplement is a document accompanying the vocational qualifications acquired, with the aim of making them easily comprehensible also by possible foreign employers. The Certificate Supplement provides information on the skills and competences acquired, on the type of professional activity which it is possible to access, as well as on the level of the certificate within the national classification system.
In describing the original certificate, the Certificate Supplement specifies the following information:
- name of the certificate (in the national language)
- the various professional activities the holder may have access to
- the name and status of the national/regional authority accrediting/recognising the certificate
- level of the certificate in the country issuing it
- table of classification/requirements for obtaining the certificate
- access to the subsequent level of teaching/training
- international agreements
- officially recognised course of study for obtaining the certificate (description of the course based on school/training centre, workplace, recognition of training credit points, requirements of access to the course, additional notes)
Who issues it
The bodies authorised to issue the Certificate Supplement are the same as those which issue the original certificates and, in particular, in Italy could be:
- Autonomous Regions and Provinces, in the case of vocational training qualifications.
- Schools, for vocational education courses.
- Other state or private bodies providing training services.
