Language Passport |
The Europass Language Passport is a section of the European Language Portfolio, created by the Council of Europe in 1998. In its current form, the ELP is an instrument which accompanies the individual in his/her foreign language learning pathway throughout life. It in fact offers a precise description of the linguistic competences acquired both in a formal environment (school and training) and in other contexts (at work, with friends, in the family etc.). It is a self-assessed and voluntary statement, and thus requires no further validation. It does not substitute formal certifications obtained, either in or outside the school system, but incorporates them systematically in a document that records the complete learning pathway.
Who issues it
